About the Product
It captures the full range of that circuit’s gain structure, from clean and edge-of-breakup tones to fully saturated drive and features JFET technology combined with an internal voltage booster that elevates the 9V DC supply to high-voltage operation, providing authentic amp-like response, enhanced dynamics, and massive headroom.
On the right, the FUZZ section takes cues from a revered ’90s boutique design, fine-tuned to our specifications for improved flexibility and clarity while preserving the massive, singing sustain of the original.
Used separately or stacked, these two sides deliver everything from rich, classic crunch to thick, saturated walls of sagging fuzz; a complete palette that captures our vision of unapologetic rock tone, from timeless classics to modern stoner and doom sounds.
Controls:
- FUZZ section
- fuzz: Controls the intensity and saturation of the fuzz. Lower settings deliver smooth, rounded tones, while higher settings yield thick, raw textures. At full tilt, it unleashes explosive harmonic overload with massive sustain and aggressive edge.
- tone: Shapes the EQ response of the fuzz. From darker, woolier tones (counterclockwise) to sharper, more cutting fuzz character (clock-wise). Bass response has been carefully tuned for clarity and definition, allowing your fuzz tones to stay powerful without getting lost or muddy.
- volume: Adjusts the overall output of the fuzz section. Use to match levels or push your amp or distortion pedal harder for greater gain and sustain.
- fuzz voicing toggle:
- RAW: Lower gain setting with a tighter response, reduced low end, and a brighter top end. Ideal for articulate riffs, open chords, and vintage-voiced clarity.
- BURN: Higher gain mode with added sustain, enhanced bass response, and a fatter, more saturated character. Designed for heavy riffs, soaring leads, and full-blown sonic mayhem.
- gain: Controls the saturation and overall drive character. Lower settings deliver clean to edge-of-breakup tones with dynamic response, while higher settings provide thick, crunchy British drive with rich mids and punchy attack.
- F.A.T.: Fatness Adjustment Tweak: a rotary tone-shaping circuit that alters the low-mid emphasis and gain character. Turn clockwise for a fuller, woolier tone. (2)
- Hz: Adjusts low-end content. Turn clockwise to add body and weight. (2)
- KHz: Controls the top-end clarity and bite. Higher settings increase brightness and articulation, while lower settings soen the edge for a smoother tone.
- H.F.D.: High Frequency Dynamics: adds upper harmonic content drive and presence. Use to push the signal forward in a mix with added edge and air.
- master: Sets the overall output level of the AMP section. Features enormous amounts of output volume making it ideal to be also used as a preamp.
Footswitches: Engage or bypass the FUZZ and AMP sections. Both sections are true bypass via high quality relays.
Power-up bypass state preset: On power-up both LEDs will blink and then go in bypass mode by default. Hold the footswitch(es) during power-up to change the default function to engaged (on state). Repeat the procedure above to restore the previous setting. This function comes in especially handy to people that use remote pedal switchers / loopers as they only set the state of the pedal once and then operate from the controller.
Connections:
↓/↑: mono instrument input/output. SND/RTN: Passive series effects loop. Connect your beloved pedals between FUZZ and AMP or use the two sections as separate and independent effects when using an external bypass switcher / looper. SND is the output of the FUZZ section, RTN is the input of the AMP section. SND is connected to RTN when no instrument jacks are inserted in the effects loop. (3)
Power supply: 9V DC center negative, regulated / stabilized (not included). Isolated power supply is recommended for best perfor- mance. Max current consumption 82mA.
Warning: This unit was designed for 9V DC input only. It features an internal voltage boost. Do not use a higher voltage power supply as it will cause malfunction and void warranty! Notes:
(1) AMP section does not feature a speaker simulation circuit. It is intended for use as preamp or overdrive pedal with another amp/speaker cabinet. We recommend using a separate speaker simulation device when going direct
(2) When using either section at extreme settings, low-end buildup can occur. For example, maxing the gain, F.A.T., and Hz controls on the AMP side, or the fuzz control on the FUZZ section - especially in BURN mode - may result in an overly saggy or boomy response. This effect becomes even more pronounced when both sections are stacked, potentially leading to (un)wanted blocking distortion. Moderate settings will yield a tighter, more balanced tone.
(3) Any pedals connected to the passive effects loop are still in the signal chain when the FUZZ and AMP sections are true bypassed.
